| The hand crafted name boards I make are high quality and value priced. They are a collaborative effort with you as the artistic designer and me as the sculptor. They will dress up your yacht in style. They can also be used as a plaque to display your boat’s name in your home, or as a gift for a yachting friend. (I even have one with my address on my mailbox!)

Each Name board is custom made using high quality materials. I start with seasoned hardwoods, usually Teak or Mahogany. I mill the wood to the dimension and style for the project. I seal the wood with West Systems Epoxy. I cut and attach the vinyl lettering. I use 5 year calendered vinyl for solid colors; 5 year cast vinyl for metallic colors, and 5 year metalized PVC for gold accents. This is a reasonably priced alternative to gold leaf lettering. Next, I seal the vinyl with additional coats of West Epoxy to further protect the lettering. A minimum of 8 coats of varnish are applied to maximize UV protection and produce a glossy appearance.
The font choices for your project are somewhat overwhelming. Basically, if the font you like for your project is available in MS Word; I can cut it. Bear in mind that complex fonts require a lot of preparation and assemble time. I can also use specialty fonts available as downloads from the internet; again, requiring more prep time.

Name boards can be made solid for mounting from inside, or can be pre-drilled and sealed for surface mounting from the front. I attach and seal teak spacers as stand-offs to prevent pre-mature varnish degradation from water collecting behind the board. These spacers can be in the form of wedges if your cabin sides are at an angle.

Name Boards are fairly straight forward for the average “Do it Yourselfer” to install on your yacht. If you are nervous about drilling into the sides of your boat, I’m sure your local marina or maintenance people can help you out. If you are within my local commuting area, I would be happy to assist you with the installation.

If you are renaming your boat and need new vinyl cut, applied and sealed to your existing Name Boards, I can provide that service as well as making repairs.
